Queensland Rail have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer in our SEQ Track and Civil Engineering team. Based in our Corinda depot, this role is primarily responsible for providing technical engineering advice to a variety of external and internal clients to assist in providing engineering solutions across Queensland.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Working autonomously to provide engineering technical services to achieve objectives against specific KPIs, budgets and timeframes.
  • Provide engineering support on a variety of track and civil engineering projects.
  • Managing resources, consultants, and contracts to assist in the delivery of safe, timely and commercially sound engineering solutions.

 

We are seeking interest from candidates who have:

 

  • Ability to demonstrate and discuss practical experience, hands-on worksite construction experience essential.
  • Strong focus on safety and proven capability managing stakeholders, contractors, unexpected events and on-site challenges.
  • Previous experience in civil asset management, maintenance or construction, with willingness to learn and rapidly build capability.
  • Experience in providing engineering design and technical support, ideally within a rail environment.
  • High level of civil engineering support skills, including drainage, stormwater, civil works and track-related activities.
  • Proven relationship management skills, including negotiation, problem solving and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Commitment to a value‑engineering approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple high‑priority or high‑pressure projects simultaneously with strong prioritisation skills.

 

Qualification requirements:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
