About the role
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Regional Strategic Planning team. This team develops and communicate asset renewal programs and projects, supporting the Manager Capital Investment and Planning with providing asset management plans and capital approvals governance, as well as writing strong business cases for Regional Assets and other internal stakeholders.
 
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that is based in our Brisbane CBD or Toowoomba office, with a starting base salary of $130,627 plus up to 12.75% superannuation.  
  
Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Participate as a member of the Capital Investment and Planning team to support the capital investment goals to support the respective asset owner client and/or stakeholder needs.
  • Produce high quality investment submissions for Queensland Rail Regional Assets and other internal stakeholders which reflect organisational and functional strategies and priorities and support the achievement of Corporate Plan capital expenditure targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholder within Queensland Rail Regional, Finance, SEQ & Corporate Services and other enterprise business groups to ensure a common understanding of Regional and organisational asset management priorities and to expedite targeted outcomes within the context of the organisation's governance frameworks.
  • Support the Manager Capital Investment and Planning in providing asset plan development, implementing capital project governance and developing investment submission documentation for Queensland Rail Regional Assets and other internal stakeholders as required.
  • Support the Manager Asset Planning in processes relating to capital plan development and administration, business case development, reporting internal project approvals and funding approvals under the Transport Service Contract with government.

  • High level of knowledge or demonstrated ability and commitment to quickly learn:
  • Financial modelling of investment options to inform the identification of commercially viable and valuable solutions.
  • High level of knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn program, project, and investment governance activities, focused on coordinated approval and delivery of complex projects within tight timeframes.
