This is a full time fixed-term opportunity until 06/02/2026 based in Brisbane.

 

We are seeking to connect with a dynamic and adaptable professional who has a genuine interest in regional rail freight services and a willingness to develop deeper industry knowledge to join our team of five. In this multifaceted role you will:

  • Develop and prepare customer proposals for rail freight and heritage passenger operators, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage and oversee access to the rail network, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams across legal, operational, and safety functions to coordinate network access proposals and contract administration.
  • Engage with external customers and stakeholders to build strong working relationships.

We are seeking to connect with someone who ideally will have:

  • Experience in managing or supporting administrative aspects of contracts or projects.
  • A reasonable grasp of rail network operations and safety risk management.
  • Background in rail and commercial functions. Candidates with rail experience but no commercial background will still be considered.
  • Proven ability to work productively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise memos, briefings, and summaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and responsibilities independently, while still contributing to broader team goals.
  • Strong ability for absorbing new information and concepts, particularly within a complex, regulated industry.
