We’re seeking a passionate and proactive Senior Health & Safety Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture across the business.

This is more than just a compliance role. It’s an opportunity to influence and empower leaders and drive meaningful, risk-focused safety outcomes in the Regional business.

Your Opportunity

This is a full-time permanent role based in Brisbane’s CBD with a starting base salary of  $135,199 plus 12.75% superannuation. You must be able to travel regularly as part of the role.

As a Senior Health & Safety Business Partner, you’ll work across regional Queensland, partnering with operational leaders and frontline teams to drive safety improvements where they matter most. You’ll support the delivery of key outcomes through the implementation of the Safety and Environment Management Systems (SEMS), while also maintaining an in-field presence completing audits, participating in safety meetings, facilitating risk workshops and supporting incident investigations. With regular travel throughout the region, you’ll build strong, on-the-ground relationships and see the real impact of your work firsthand.

Purpose That Counts. You can expect some of your responsibilities to include: 

• Provide technical risk-focused health and safety advice to operational areas through detailed analysis and practical insight.
•  Consultatively facilitate the identification and development of health and safety risk treatments and improvement programs.
• Build strong relationships to become a trusted business partner, guiding leaders and workers on health and safety aligned with operational risk profiles and strategic goals.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with safety legislation and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety controls through audits, inspections, and process reviews, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Assist with incident response and investigations.
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to Health and Safety Business Partners, operational leaders and Health and Safety Representatives.

People Who Count. We are looking to connect with someone who ideally has:

• A qualification related to the field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience with a strong background in facilitating risk management processes, including the development and monitoring of controls and treatment programs.
• Highly developed written communication skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity and quality.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted relationships and an inclusive network, supporting health and safety management and delivering key content.
• Strong investigation, analysis, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring the efficiency of systems, controls, and practices related to health and safety.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and risk frameworks, including risk management processes and the implementation of effective safety controls.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, proactive drive safety initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing conditions while achieving positive health and safety outcomes.
