Tomorrow That Counts - About this role:
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel this role will be responsible for providing regulatory and contractual support to ensure The Wave projects alignment with Queensland Rail's RNSL obligations.This pivotal role will provide expert legal advice, navigate complex legal issues, and contribute to strategic decisions that shape the future of Queensland Rail. You will also be a member of the Legal, RTI & Privacy Team.
Your work will directly influence Queensland Rail’s operations and long-term strategies, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that shape the future of Queensland’s transportation infrastructure. You’ll engage with a diverse array of legal issues, from corporate governance and commercial law to regulatory compliance, employment, and competition matters.
Purpose That Counts - Overview of Responsibilities of the role:
- Develop, manage and implement the overall legal/commercial/Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) strategy
- Provide legal support to the MPI Systems Assurance and Delivery teams
- Assist in the development of Queensland Rail strategies, policies, procedures and technical standards associated with System Engineering
- Act as the MPI legal interface with the Rail Safety Regulator across the project

- Extensive knowledge of Rail Safety National Law and related legislation, obligations and frameworks
- High level of analytical skills to design, develop and implement governance strategies, policies, procedures and technical standards
- High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation and communication skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships
