About this role:

 

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified senior finance professional to provide strategic financial leadership to Queensland Rail's Fit for Future Transformation Office ensuring financial planning, benefits realisation measurement, cost control management and reporting services to optimize commercial outcomes for the business This role will initially be until 30/6/2026, with the possibility of extension.

 

This position is the primary interface between Queensland Rail and the Fit For Future Transformation Office in relation to all finance matters in cooperation with Corporate Finance.

 

 

Purpose that Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead the Fit for Future transformation office annual operational plan and relevant committee submissions as per enterprise timetable and parameters in conjunction with Corporate Finance.
  • Drive the financial reporting of transformation initiatives in terms of cost management, benefits realisations, and the financial health of the transformation program.
  • Lead the Fit for Future transformation finance team in the provision of specialist cost collection, control, reporting and management services across Queensland Rail.
  • Develop and review Capital and Investment Committee submissions in conjunction with PMO and Corporate Finance. 
  • Ensure Queensland Rail's financial obligations are met in accordance with established Queensland Rail processes and legislative requirements.
  • Provide advice and strategic support to the Group Senior Manager - Finance in relation to decision making with financial consequences.

  • CPA or CA Australian Member
  • Bachelor’s degree in G_Accounting/Econ/Bus Higher Education / Business Management
  • Substantial level of skill in taking a lead role in Transformational change in large organisations
  • Substantial level of skill in project management
  • Substantial level of skill in people development and leadership skills
  • Substantial level of interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills
  • Substantial analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Substantial level of skill in data structures and data-driven decision making
