Your Opportunity

As the Senior Manager Regional People, you’ll lead a small, dedicated team of HR Business Partners and a Diversity and Inclusion Adviser to ensure delivery of exceptional partnering in a leader-led model that drives and supports the strategic objectives for Queensland Rail’s Regional business and the broader enterprise. 

Reporting to the Group Senior Manager People Services, you will be a key leader of the People Services team and will play a pivotal role to influence the design and implementation of people strategies that achieve appropriate integration into the Regional business area.

Your role will work closely with the Head of Regional to deliver strategic people, safety and sustainability solutions for Queensland Rail’s Regional business. 

Our Regional business comprises of Travel and Tourism, employees involved in freight supply chain solutions and network access, Network employees outside South East Queensland, and regional project delivery. 

 

Overview of Responsibilities of the role:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide strong leadership in People Safety and Sustainability by developing and implementing effective strategies, engaging with business partners and stakeholders, and ensuring financial and commercial excellence.
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the creation, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise-wide People Services strategy within the broader People Safety and Sustainability community and leadership team.
  • Initiative Implementation: Drive the execution of enterprise-wide People initiatives and manage change across Regional businesses to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Human Resource Management: Lead the Regional People team in managing and resolving human resource issues, ensuring effective resolution and support.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to align and prioritize their needs, creating a strong connection between the business and Group Functions.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective relationships with People Safety and Sustainability community members, business stakeholders, suppliers, government, and unions.

About you:

  • Proven expertise in aligning business strategy with people and culture initiatives, using a strategic business partner model and addressing complex organisational issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary HR management principles and practices applicable to large, complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate employees to achieve collective goals.
  • Exceptional influencing, relationship-building, consultation, and negotiation skills.


Remuneration & Employment Type

This is a permanent, fulltime position, based in Brisbane CBD with a competitive remuneration, 12.75% superannuation, and hybrid work options to support the balance between work and personal commitments.
