Senior Manager People Business Partnering: A Strategic Leadership Opportunity

 

Are you a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record of driving significant strategic change and delivering tangible results in a large, complex organisation? Queensland Rail is seeking an impactful leader to serve as a Senior Manager People Business Partnering. This is a pivotal role for a professional who excels at navigating multiple stakeholder landscapes and aligning people strategy with critical business objectives. You will be a catalyst for change, shaping the future of people and culture through your strategic yet pragmatic leadership.

 

As an accomplished HR leader, you will report to the Group Senior Manager – People Services to shape and implement the People Services operating model.  We are seeking an experienced professional who can step in immediately to and hit the ground running on a 6-month fixed-term contract (potential extension to 12 months).  This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished leader to deliver immediate impact and ensure continuity of our people initiatives.

 

What You'll Deliver

 

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to business leaders, aligning business priorities with people and culture initiatives and playing a key role in shaping the enterprise-wide people strategy.
  • Lead operating model changes for the People Services team.
  • Lead significant enterprise-wide people initiatives and the associated change management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, government, and unions, fostering a collaborative approach ability to foster collaboration will be critical to our success.
  • Provide guidance to your team to partner and support managers in their people leadership. 

 

What You'll Bring

 

We're looking for a candidate with a known track record of success. You must demonstrate:

  • Strategic HR Business Partnering: significant experience in leading strategic business partnering teams to coach and develop leaders with skills and confidence to excel in people leadership.
  • Strategic HR Expertise: A high level of skill in strategically aligning business priorities with people and culture initiatives, applying a strategic business partner model to address complex organisational issues.
  • Proven Change Leadership: A strong ability to lead and inspire teams for change and transformation.
  • High-Level Influencing Skills: Exceptional influencing, interpersonal, consultation, and negotiation skills to build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
  • Contemporary HR Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of modern human resource management principles and practices, as applied in large, complex organisations.
  • Motivational Leadership: Strong leadership skills that motivate and develop your team to achieve desired results.
