About the Team
The Signalling Asset Renewals Mechanical team, alongside the electrical team, specialises in high quality signalling asset renewals and upgrades across SEQ and the regional network. The team can reliably perform a wide range of tasks ranging from civil works such as concrete formations and trenching to specialised mechanical adjustment of points and boom mechanisms. Based at our Qantas Drive Depot, this team is dedicated to maintaining safety, quality, and operational excellence.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Signalling Systems Maintainer to lead onsite installation and commissioning of trackside signalling systems. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibilities including:
- Leading worksite activities to ensure compliance with WH&S and environmental protection policies.
- Installing and commissioning mechanical signalling equipment, including concrete foundations, points machines, signals and level crossing mechanisms.
- Coordinating site safety and ensuring adherence to technical and operational standards.
- Assisting the Coordinator with project timelines, site inspections, and team supervision.
You will work on exciting projects such as the QTMP facility at Torbanlea, Mackay Resignalling, SEQ and regional level crossing upgrades, and power equipment room installations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate III in Mechanical Rail Signalling.
- C-Class Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in the construction industry, particularly with concrete projects.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing worksites.
- Proficiency in interpreting civil drawings.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
