The Regional Planning and Project Controls team has an exciting, permanent, full-time opportunity for suitably experienced Senior Project Controls Advisers with strong stakeholder and collaboration skills to join the team and support our wider Regional Project Delivery teams.
About the role
The Senior Project Controls Adviser role will provide successful candidates with an opportunity to support and influence project control practices across a diverse portfolio. Working within a dynamic team, the roles will drive and support informed decision-making and project performance. Including:
- Undertaking detailed analysis of projects to provide accurate insights on project health, trends, and performance to stakeholders, including baselining costs, forecasting, variance analysis, and earned-value reporting.
- Supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of project control processes by driving the alignment between scope, schedule and cost, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Developing, implementing, and optimising systems, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel, SAP) to monitor project performance.
- Supporting governance and assurance processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful project performance reporting, including asset transfers.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to the cost team and contributing to building internal capability across the team.
- Playing an active role in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying gaps, standardising processes, and supporting the implementation of best-practice methodologies and tools.
What you can bring to the role:
- High level of skill in providing project controls services and support. Strong scope, schedule and financial management knowledge will see your success in the role.
- Advanced skills in contemporary office software, especially Microsoft Excel, with skills in reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI advantageous
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and working collaboratively within a team environment
- A strategic thinker with high attention to detail and organisation skills, working to meet corporate deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience using SAP R3 and/or Primavera P6 preferred
- Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.

The role offers a starting salary of $135,000plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
