We have an exciting fixed term contract opportunity until 30 June 2028 for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Major Projects team supporting one of Queensland’s most significant infrastructure programs, Cross River Rail. This role will be based in Clapham Yard & Yerongpilly Junction Track Construction Program.

 

Purpose That Counts - some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and control designated projects in accordance with Queensland Rail's project management systems
  • Manage the technical and engineering aspects of projects to ensure all works are constructed in accordance with the design, drawings, specification and standards.
  • Develop project plans, scopes, programs, risk management plans, cost plans and cash flows within approved scope and budgets in consultation with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage the implementation of project activities in relation to progress against program and budget, cash flow, scope, work quality and track possession utilisation.
  • Develop and implement project reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders on project progress
  • Finalise project activities, including quality and scope sign-offs, closure or project financial systems, project audits

 

People Who Count – What you will bring:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure construction and maintenance standards, operations and practices as used in a major railway organisation.
  • High level of management skills within a multi-disciplinary project management environment
  • High level of skill in planning, organising and programming the needs of major work
  • High level of written and oral communication, negotiation, motivational and interpersonal skills.
  • Substantial skill in developing, monitoring, controlling and forecasting budgets within defined cost and time limitations.
