About the Team
The Regional Planning and Project Controls team supports Queensland Rail’s Regional Project Delivery portfolio by providing expert scheduling, planning, and project controls services. We work closely with project managers and delivery teams to ensure projects are well-planned, aligned to delivery objectives, and supported by high-quality, data-driven reporting.
Our team fosters a collaborative and professional environment focused on continuous improvement, consistency, and building planning capability across the region.
We currently have a full-time, permanent opportunity based in our Brisbane CBD office for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Scheduler with Primavera P6 expertise to join our team. This is an AS6 role with a remuneration band of $135,199- $144,679.
About the role
The Senior Project Scheduler will develop, implement, and maintain systems for planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting the progress and performance of projects, programs, and portfolios within Regional Queensland. Your success in this role will be determined by your ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders effectively.
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual with outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have previous experience in planning and scheduling large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Project Scheduler, you can anticipate some of your daily activities to include:
- Manage and co-ordinate the implementation and management of systems to plan, monitor and report on projects, programs and portfolios
- Liaise and support Project Managers and stakeholders to develop and maintain the time and resource schedules for individual projects, programs and the overall works portfolio
- Advise Project and Program Managers of time scheduling and resourcing issues and risks
- Manage and maintain an accurate database on the forecast commissioning dates and key milestones of all projects
- Monitor, record and report on project performance by comparing actuals against planned criteria
- Produce reports (inclusive of resource profiles and Earned Value) providing an executive summary to Senior Management

Our ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Extensive level of experience using Primavera P6
- Rail systems knowledge will be advantageous and highly regarded
- High level of skill in analysing complex project planning issues and inter-relationships between projects where requirements often change.
- High level of interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of project management principles
- Intermediate Excel Skills (Macros and Pivot Tables) is highly regarded, knowledge of Tableau and Power BI advantageous.
