Queensland Rail is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-focused Senior Training Adviser to join our team on an initial fixed term contract until 30th June 2026.

 

Your Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with business leaders and training teams to provide expert advisory services and help deliver high-impact training and development solutions. You will play a key role in aligning training activities with organisational goals, identifying capability gaps, and supporting the design and implementation of tailored learning strategies.

 

In this fixed-term role, you will be stepping into a fast-paced environment with a high volume of incoming work. Your ability to quickly contribute and provide expert support will be critical in maintaining momentum and meeting business needs.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking analysis to identify the correct learning job roles for positions across the business
  • Triaging customer tickets within the customer management system
  • Engaging with business areas to understand the root causes of capability or training issues
  • Leading training needs analysis for small to large teams, using documented processes and tools
  • Analysing job role reports to identify common themes and trends
  • Applying training packaging rules under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
  • Ensuring training solutions meet relevant regulatory and licensing requirements

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in training advisory, learning design, or organisational development roles
  • Ability to triage incoming work, assess urgency, and determine priorities to manage a high volume of requests effectively
  • A sound understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and training packaging rules
  • Knowledge of, and ability to work within, regulatory and licensing requirements relevant to training and competency-based frameworks
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders to identify needs and deliver fit-for-purpose learning solutions
  • High-level analytical, written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach
