The Signalling Project Delivery team currently has a rare opportunity for an experienced Signalling Delivery Manager to join them on a temporary 12-month full time basis with the opportunity to extend to the right person. Reporting to the Program Delivery Manager you will manage all aspects of the delivery of major/complex, safety critical signal and operational systems project solutions.

About the role:

  • Develop business cases, project plans, including time programmes, cost plans and cash flows in line with the approved scope and budget for the project in conjunction with all stakeholders.
  • Determine resource requirements, as well as contractual and procurement strategies which are to be adopted for the projects and engage and commission Service Providers, including negotiation of terms of engagement and performance.
  • Conduct and implement Risk Management and value engineering activities throughout the project life cycle and conduct consultation with community groups, unions, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders in relation to the project.
  • Monitor and manage the implementation of all project activities of contractors, consultants, and internal Service Providers in relation to progress, cash flow and work quality to ensure they are completed to required standards, within programme and within budget constraints.

 

 To be successful you will need:

  • Project management skills in the co-ordination, organisation, administration, and supervision of major and/or complex signalling construction projects.
  • Strong written, oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing, monitoring, controlling, and forecasting budgets within defined cost and time limitations.
  • Have a good knowledge of Rail Infrastructure Standards, operations and practices and its inter-relativity with rail operations.

 

You don’t need to have a signalling background to be successful in this role but having rail industry experience or previously worked as a site-based engineer or even project management experience would stand you in good stead to master the role.
