Your Opportunity

 

Queensland Rail’s Procurement and Contracts team is a strategic function that drives value, reduces risk, and ensures operational efficiency in support of Queensland Rail’s complex network of Travel, Tourism and freight services. Our mission is to partner with our stakeholders to improve business outcomes and provide value for money solutions in our commitment to providing world-class rail services to the public. 

 

We’re looking for a Sourcing Specialist (AS5) to join our ICT Category team and play a key role in procuring goods and services, managing contracts, and driving supplier performance to ensure the best commercial outcomes.

 

As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for:

 

  •        Procuring goods and services in line with legislation and policy requirements to achieve optimal commercial results.
  •        Managing procurement activities, including maintaining accurate business records.
  •        Developing sourcing strategies to support procurement decision-making.
  •        Negotiating prices, contract terms, and key performance indicators with suppliers.
  •        Gathering, analysing, and reporting on spend data and supplier performance.
  •        Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  •        Providing feedback to procurement managers on supplier and customer issues, focusing on resolution and continuous improvement.

 

 

What We’re Looking For

 

      High-level procurement expertise in delivering commercial and customer-focused solutions.

      Experience in managing tender processes, contract negotiations, and reviews.

      Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build and sustain productive relationships.

      Ability to analyse procurement data and generate insightful reports.

Remuneration & Employment Type

 

 

This is a fixed term, full-time position (concluding on 28.05.2027) based in Brisbane CBD.  The role offers a starting base salary of 117,750 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
