About the Role
Queensland Rail’s Procurement and Contracts team is a strategic function that drives value, reduces risk, and ensures operational efficiency in support of Queensland Rail’s complex network of Travel, Tourism, and freight services. Our mission is to partner with our stakeholders to improve business outcomes and provide value for money solutions in our commitment to providing world-class rail services to the public.
We’re seeking a proactive and commercially minded Sourcing Specialist (AS5) to manage end-to-end procurement activities across our Rail Infrastructure portfolio. This role is pivotal in delivering strategic sourcing outcomes, enhancing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and Queensland Rial’s values.
In this role, you will:
- Lead procurement processes for assigned categories, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Drive demand management and planning aligned with long-term strategic goals.
- Conduct market analysis and manage RFx processes to support sourcing initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, implementing SRM practices.
- Support contract negotiation and execution, ensuring favourable terms and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with contract management tasks.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, procurement planning, and contract execution.
- analytical capabilities and experience in market analysis and RFx management.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvements.
- knowledge of source-to-contract systems and procurement tools.
Remuneration & Employment Type
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Brisbane CBD. The role offers a starting salary of $117,750 plus 12.75% superannuation, along with hybrid work options to support a healthy work-life balance.
