We are currently seeking a suitably experienced professional to join Queensland Rail in this new role in an initial fixed term 2 year contract located in Brisbane, with the possibility of extension. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert advice, analysis, and assurance to support the safe and compliant delivery of major infrastructure projects across our operational network. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure assets are delivered in line with contractual Railway Transport Operator (RTO) requirements and seamless integration with our existing Railway Operations whilst upholding the highest standards of safety and performance.

 

Purpose that Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Define and implement assurance criteria for new or modified assets, ensuring safe integration into the operational network.
  • Coordinate evidence submissions and support configuration change processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on integration activities, compliance, risks, and technical standards.
  • Review systems assurance deliverables and develop supporting artefacts to meet safety and technical requirements.
  • Monitor non-conformances, drive improvements, and maintain oversight of contract requirements related to asset assurance.
  • Support identification and resolution of operational risks throughout project delivery.

 

 

 People Who Count - Who we are looking for:

 

  • Extensive experience in asset acceptance, risk, and assurance within large-scale project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering construction, operations, and maintenance practices and standards.
  • Proven ability to develop technical standards, specifications, and risk documentation.
  • High-level skills in risk assessment, technical analysis, and interpreting complex data.
  • Solid understanding of design, asset management, and inspection/audit processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Highly organised and motivated individual with outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

 

You’ll bring experience working in complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, with a focus on planning, assurance, and integration. A background in navigating fast-paced environments and coordinating across technical teams will be key to your success in this role. 

 

 

Professional qualification:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
