We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Interface Project Manager to join the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) on a 4 year fixed term. Based in our Brisbane CBD office this role will be responsible for providing systems project and stakeholder interface management for the delivery of the complex Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) to support the integration of the QTMP solutions and associated technology deliverables.

Position Description

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Project Manage the implementation, integration, modification, and operation of systems critical to the successful delivery of QTMP in a complex rail environment. Ensure accountability across inter-disciplinary teams and external delivery partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government agencies, and external partners to influence outcomes, secure stakeholder commitments, and streamline approval processes.
  • Prepare project schedules, resource allocation plans, and cost estimates.
  • Identify and manage key interdependencies across ICT, Operational Technology, and broader QTMP delivery streams. Mitigate risks through effective planning, stakeholder engagement, and operational evaluation to support timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to project requirements and client expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting any variations to cost, time or quality. Oversee project finalisation activities including audits, lessons learned and promote ongoing improvement through knowledge sharing and professional collaboration.

 

Selection criteria

 

  • 8+ years of systems project management experience with demonstration of expertise in project managing all phases of the systems project lifecycle, including planning, integration, operational readiness, and transition to operations ideally within large-scale infrastructure or technical delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate diverse stakeholders, effectively communicate complex technical information, negotiate outcomes, and foster shared understanding across organisational and external interfaces.
  • High-level skill in applying project management methodologies within complex, multi-disciplinary environments, including coordination of interdependent workstreams, risk mitigation, and financial oversight to ensure project success.
  • Strong capability in identifying and managing delivery multiple streams and interdependencies across ICT, operational technology, and broader project interfaces, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and implementation plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving continuous improvement, promoting a high-performance culture, and aligning team capabilities with organisational objectives, policies, and governance frameworks, including commitment to Queensland Rail’s values and standards.
  • Project Management methodology certification
