The Wave is a major transport initiative set to transform connectivity from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast. Delivering new heavy rail from Beerwah to Birtinya and an express metro-style service through Maroochydore to the Sunshine Coast Airport, this project will reduce travel times, ease congestion, and improve regional connections, leaving a lasting legacy for the 2032 Olympic Games and beyond. Purpose That Counts - some of your responsibilities will include:
We’re looking for a Track and Civil Lead to drive excellence in project delivery and innovation at Queensland Rail. In this role, you’ll lead a team of professionals, provide expert engineering advice, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will also;
- Lead and advise on track and civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, safety, and strong commercial outcomes.
- Coach and mentor teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate with impact to support successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and quality systems.
- Drive achievement of project targets and performance measures while promoting collaboration and teamwork.
People Who Count – What you will bring
- Strong skills in the design, renewal, implementation, testing, and commissioning of infrastructure such as HV traction, signalling, track and civil works, telecommunications.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of engineers and technical professionals.
- Ability to deliver practical, business-focused engineering solutions that create value in track and civil disciplines.
- Skilled in guiding multi-disciplinary teams to achieve sustainable outcomes in a complex regulatory environment.
- Experience driving business improvements and leveraging technology to deliver commercial advantage.
- Strong understanding of statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements, with a commitment to safety, environmental standards, and sound business practices.
