 About the Role

 

Queensland Rail is excited to offer the opportunity for a Track & Civil Lead to join the team on a full-time, fixed term arrangement until 2031. This role is part of the Wave Project and will initially be based in Brisbane, transitioning to Beerwah from April 2027.

 

In this role, you will lead engineering capability and drive efficient project delivery across the full lifecycle—from design and renewals to implementation, testing, and commissioning. You’ll support the successful delivery of integrated rail infrastructure projects while aligning with Queensland Rail’s broader operational and maintenance activities.

 

Purpose That Counts - some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead track and civil engineering services to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
  • Coach and mentor teams to drive quality outcomes, innovation, and effective stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, governance frameworks, and quality management systems
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to achieving project targets, performance outcomes, and continuous improvement

 

People Who Count – What you will bring

 

  • Extensive experience across the full project lifecycle including design, renewals, implementation, testing, and commissioning of rail infrastructure
  • Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams while delivering practical, business-focused technical solutions that create commercial value
  • Strong capability in guiding multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes within complex regulatory and operational environments
  • Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and organisational requirements
