Your Opportunity
QR are currently recruiting for a Trackmaster to join the Assets Training Delivery Team on a permanent basis.
As the Trackmaster you will undertake safety and condition audits in the specialist fields of thermite welding, civil maintenance welding and non-destructive testing of rails, for compliance with the Safety Management System and technical standards and to undertake technical audits and product inspections of manufactured track materials.
This role is currently based at Acacia Ridge, however, will move to Bowen Hills in the coming months. This position also involves frequent travel to assets across SEQ.
Key Responsibility:
- Provide specialist support to the Track Engineering Manager.
- Audit rail stress control, thermite welding, flashbutt welding, civil maintenance welding and non-destructive testing of rails on new construction and for maintenance works.
- Audit the manufacture of new track materials supplied by Quality inspections as necessary to ensure new track materials supplied to QR complies with technical standards, specifications, drawings and codes.
- Undertake specialist training and testing of workers including competency assessment as required including external consultancies.
- Review the field performance of track materials and specialist rail technology processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Supervise major project work involving specialist rail technology and manufacturing.
- Review, develop, document and disseminate new and updated technical standards, manuals and procedures.
About you:
Demonstrated success in training delivery, working with a variety of stakeholders in a complex environment to assure legislative, enterprise and learning governance is met, as well as:
- Current and clean drivers licence
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Attention to detail and the ability to consistently manage learner outcomes.
- Continuous improvement mindset to achieve successful learning outcomes.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to develop sound relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.
- Technical capability to meet role requirements
