Your Opportunity

As a Training Governance Officer, you’ll play an integral role in supporting the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of Queensland Rail’s enterprise learning systems through data management, analysis, reporting and user support. 

You'll help ensure data integrity, system security and compliance requirements are met, while developing practical tools and processes that support self-service information management and regulatory reporting obligations.

Working closely with the Manager, Training Frameworks and Governance, you'll also contribute to governance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives across Training and Development.

This is a temporary full-time position based in Brisbane until March 2027.

Purpose that Counts. As a Training Governance Officer, some of your duties will include: 

•    Coordinating the ongoing administration and support of Queensland Rail's enterprise learning systems.
•    Monitoring system workflows and controls to ensure governance, compliance and security requirements are met.
•    Analysing learning systems data and identifying opportunities to improve processes, user experience and business outcomes. 
•    Providing advice, guidance and support to learning system administrators and end users across the business. 
•    Conducting audits and assurance activities relating to enrolments, qualifications, trainer and assessor records and compliance processes. 
•    Preparing, analysing and maintaining accurate data and reports, including regulatory and compliance reporting requirements. 
•    Liaising with trainers, assessors and internal and external stakeholders on learning systems, reporting and RTO-related activities. 
•    Contributing to change initiatives, governance activities and continuous improvement across Training and Development. 
•    Supporting broader People, Safety and Sustainability and Training and Development projects as required.

We’re looking to connect with a candidate who ideally has:

•    Strong experience preparing and maintaining routine and scheduled system reports. 
•    Sound technical knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Management Systems (SMS) and related technologies. Previous experience with VETtrak Student Management System or similar would be highly advantageous. 
•    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and implement process improvements. 
•    Previous experience administering learning systems in a complex organisational environment. 
•    Knowledge of user access management and data governance practices. 
•    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve system-related issues. 
•    Previous experience coaching, supporting and mentoring system users and administrators.  
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships.
