About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Transport Modeller to join our Master Train Planning team on a temporary 6 month basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development and enhancement of strategic train service plans by creating and maintaining network models, supporting advanced forecasting tools, and delivering impactful modelling solutions.
You will play a key role in analysing passenger demand and supporting the creation of long-term Citytrain network strategies. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Queensland Rail’s mission to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused services, while developing your modelling and analytical skills in a supportive team environment.
We are looking for someone who brings…
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and model support.
- Experience working with large datasets, analytical tools, and visualisation platforms.
- The ability to quickly understand and work within existing modelling frameworks and planning tools.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- A collaborative approach and experience working in high performing teams.
Highly regarded;
- Experience with transport modelling or operational analysis.
- Knowledge of strategic timetable planning or rail network operations.
