About this role:


Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Project, Engineering, and Rail Safety business group, the Underground Rail Systems Engineering Lead role will see you joining the Cross River Rail Stations Development team, where you will have a strong background in underground rail systems related assets, asset management support systems, project assurance as well as risk and governance management. This is an initial 2 year fixed term role with the possibility of extension.

 

 

You can expect some of your responsibilities to include:

 

 

  • Develop and maintain best practice asset systems (including standards, specifications and procedures) appropriate for the safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable operation, maintenance and construction of network infrastructure within legal requirements.
  • Identify and manage the undertaking of all  underground rail systems related assets and their interfaces to ensure a safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable network.
  • Develop and manage systems to satisfy QRs Railway Configuration Change management, review of Safety and Environment Management Systems (SEMS), standards, specifications and procedures where required to document risk treatments for safety risks and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system to ensure coverage of all technology and business requirements that enables greater business successes and customer outcomes
  • Ensure the implementation of technical management, , system configuration management and risk management activities, to manage ongoing system integrity
  • Lead the development or technical options and concept evaluation leading to a technical solution recommendation that balances both technical and non-technical aspects of the solution.
  • Undertake systems engineering activities through the project lifecycle as required by management - delivering all necessary content and artefacts including defining and scoping customer needs and required functionality, system specifications, assurance and validation that all project documentation is collected and stored.

 

 

What you can bring to the role:

 

  • High level of leadership, communication skills and strategic skills including working in a flexible manner in a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of metro style railway systems and operations
  • Extensive knowledge of Tunnel Ventilation systems, Traction Power, their interfaces and technical aspects and technical standards
  • High level of skills being able to integrate complex issues into positive business outcomes
  • Substantial knowledge of governance, risk and compliance and its application to the regulation and risk mitigation relating to maintenance and operation of a railway infrastructure.
