​​The Workforce Optimisation team is seeking a Workforce Optimisation Analyst to join the team. This will be a full-time fixed-term opportunity until December 2025 with scope for extension based at our Brisbane CBD office. 

 

About the Workforce Optimisation Team

 

The team is responsible for developing job cards (Rail Traffic Crew daily activities) to support changes to Queensland Rail’s SEQ Master Train Plan, Concept Modelling, special events and large-scale network closures.

 

Our team of specialists combine the use of HASTUS and internally developed tools with a comprehensive understanding of our business, to provide robust, data-driven insights to help inform future strategic planning for traincrew.

 

We are a supportive unit that works collaboratively with each other and external stakeholders.

About the role
 

This is a great opportunity for someone skilled in coding and programming, and possessing a mathematical or statistical background, seeking to gain an introduction to key operational knowledge that can lead to various career progression opportunities in the public transport industry.

As a Workforce Optimisation Analyst, you will develop job card solutions to support the Cross River Rail program, Network Closures, Master Train Plan and Concept Modelling utilising the HASTUS application. Your technical expertise will enable you to drive continuous process improvement within our quality assurance and internal processes. Your strong time management skills and positive attitude will ensure your success in this role.

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Experience providing analysis, modelling, statistical, and mathematical evaluation.
  • Experience with programming languages (i.e., Python, Microsoft Excel VBA, or SQL).
  • Resilience in a dynamic team environment and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Skills in the use of a range of data analytical tools to aid in the ongoing support of internal reporting processes and provide statistical and data driven insights to support future decision making.
  • Effective interpersonal skills – a key component of this role as the team has a collaborative approach to working and stakeholder engagement is a frequent occurrence.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.

 

HASTUS experience is strongly desirable but not essential (extensive training in HASTUS will be provided).
