About the Role

 

As the Operations Support Officer you will play an integral role in supporting the efficient running of our Onboard and Station Customer Service depot in Bundaberg. This is a dynamic role that supports the Operations Co-Ordinator and team onboard our long-distance trains with operational coordination, staff supervision and administrative support. 

 

This is a permanent full-time position based in Bundaberg

Purpose that Counts. As an Operations Support Officer some of your duties will include:

 

•   Function semi autonomously within the operation of the Bundaberg On Board Services Depot ensuring any operational issues such as organising shunts, platform Allocations, creation of vizirail train wires etc are carried out efficiently and effectively.
•    Co-ordinating the provisioning of food and beverages on the trains. This includes ensuring that all items are inspected and meet the required standards  
•    Assist to manage the safety, well-being and supervision of the onboard staff by providing Trip Reports, direction where necessary and ensuring that if staff are not available in line with the roster, replacement staff are sourced
•     Assist Operations Coordinator with supervision of platform activities to ensure customer safety and the efficient on-time running of long distance services.
•     Enter financial data, preparing reports including reconciling variances and assist with cash handling and accounting procedures (where applicable)
•    Work across a rotating roster which will include early starts, late finishes, overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays

Hours / Roster: 

You will work across a rotating roster between the hours of 0400 and 1700 which may include every second weekend and some public holidays. 

 

We are looking to connect with someone who has: 

 

•    Strong organisational, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced and agile environment  
•    Previous experience in an administrative support role using the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (basic formulas)
•    Experience with cash handling and basic accounting procedures  
•    Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service to ensure a positive experience
