Our well-established maintenance team based in Bundaberg/Miriam Vale is currently seeking a Senior Traction Linesperson to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.
About the Team
Reporting to the Trackside Systems Coordinator Bundaberg, you will work within a small team. They are a supportive team that work together to cover large kilometres of our rail network predominately between Bundaberg to Gladstone, however you may be required to assist in other areas of the business as required.
About the role:
As a Senior Traction Linesman you will lead the Traction Power personnel in the on-site installation, maintenance and repair of overhead traction power equipment to ensure the safe and effective operation of the rail network.
In this role you will:
- Plan, Implement, coordinate and manage worksite safe working protection as well as coordinate and manage environmental protection
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements and legislative policies including work activities performed by subordinate employees.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications and standards including work activities performed by subordinate employees.
- Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of ensuring continuous quality improvement
- On call as required
About you:
- Must have Cert III Rail Traction
- Electrical Linesperson license
- NP Category ‘O’ qualification
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
Hours, salary and travel
This position follows a standard 9 Day fortnight roster of Monday to Friday in Week 1 and Monday to Thursday with a Leisure Day Off (LDO) on Friday in Week 2, working 9-day shifts from 0700 to 1600 with stand by and overtime as required.
The salary will be discussed with suitable applicants.
While travel is generally local to the home depot, occasional travel may be required across the North Coast region from Gympie to Gladstone, and at times to Rockhampton and South East Queensland. All travel expenses and accommodation will be covered by Queensland Rail when travel is required.
