In this exciting permanent full time role in Bundaberg you will join a team that values your skills and dedication to safe and efficient rail operations to connect Queensland and our Communities driving the Spirit of Queensland, Electric Tilt Train and Spirit of the Outback.
During the 10-week training you must be available for the entire school, leave is not permitted. The forecasted training start date will be 27th July 2026 – subject to change.

Why being a Queensland Rail Regional Driver makes a difference to you
- $ 148, 620 annual Regional Full Flat Rate plus additional allowances where applicable, OT and 12.75% superannuation
- Meal allowance on shifts exceeding 10 hours, where possible a Travel Train meal is provided
- Individual self-contained minimum 3.5 star apartment when overnight stay is required
- Yearly wage Increases – minimum 3% each year until 2027
- Commitment to maximising employment security – includes no forced relocation and no forced redundancy.

Current agreement to be implemented (Date TBC)
- Reduction in cycle time from 160 hrs to 152 hrs over 4 weeks and introduction of a 9-day fortnight
Eligibility for interview:
- Apply with Cover Letter outlining your driving experience including types of traction and locations/routes.
- Hold Certificate in Train Driving - original must be presented prior to the next stage
- Hold a current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Meet safety critical benchmark for psychometric assessment (conducted after application in Queensland)
- Confirm you will relocate to Bundaberg if successful, and understand you will not be eligible to change depot locations for a minimum of three years as per the EA.
DEL Traction experience and QLD safeworking qualification are preferred.
