We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Queensland Rail’s Travel Centre based in Bundaberg.
Our travel consultants provide high quality, friendly customer service. This role would suit someone with a passion for customer service and a genuine interest in helping people. You will be a quick thinker with an ability to work through problems and provide solutions. You will need to work autonomously in this role.
This is a permanent full-time position that generally works between the hours of 04:15 to 17:00 You will also be required to work a weekend on a rotational basis (1 in 3 weeks).

Key responsibilities will include
- Provide a service for the correct issue and processing of all rail tickets in Queensland and third party products.
- Accurate informative and advice to customers.
- Correct and efficient ticketing of rail and third party.
- Accurate and timely processing of payments including credit / debit cards, cash and account holders.
- Contribute to the maximisation of Travel Centre revenue by upselling Queensland Rail Travel and third party products and services and developing repeat business.
- Ensure policies and regulations regarding ticketing, bookings and office administration are complied with.
- Utilise nominated reservations systems to ensure an efficient service is provided to customers.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of Queensland Rail Travel services and products and third party products, services and promotions by attending training, familiarisation duties and industry functions.
We are looking to connect with someone who ideally has:
- Substantial experience in using Travel systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A positive and solutions focused approach.
- Exceptional admin, customer service and sales skills.
- Previous tourism experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work within a diverse team in a fast-paced work environment.
