Our well-established maintenance team based in Cairns are currently seeking a Signal Electrician to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

• 9 day fortnight roster - Mon-Fri, Mon-Thurs (3 day weekend every fortnight)

About the Team

Working out of our Portsmith depot, you will be joining a team of three who work together to service our signalling infrastructure within the northern region, which spans from Mareeba to Cardwell.

About the role

As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world-class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.

In this role you will:

• Install, maintain, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment.
• Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment.
• Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.
• Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems.
• Work predominately between the hours of 0715 to 1615 on a 9-day fortnight

About you

• Certificate IV Railway Signalling
• Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
• Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting
• Must have capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
