About the Team
Our Regional Assets division plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Queensland’s rail network, keeping it dependable for the people of our state.
Working out of our Portsmith depot, this role is part of our dedicated Wayside Systems team, which includes experts in Signalling and Telecommunications. The team are responsible for servicing the North Coast and Tablelands lines, spanning from Cardwell to Mareeba. In addition to planned preventative maintenance the team also perform signalling upgrades and corrective works.
About the role
As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world-class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.
In this role you will:
- Install, maintain, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment.
- Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment.
- Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.
- Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems.
- Work predominately between the hours of 0715 to 1615 on a 9-day fortnight
About you
- Certificate IV Railway Signalling
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting
- Must have capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
