We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Maintainer to join our Regional Assets North, Wayside Systems team based at our Cairns depot.

What Queensland Rail has to offer:

• 9 day fortnight - Monday to Friday with every second Friday off (3 day weekend)
• You can expect an annual salary of between $90,000 - $100,000 + 12.75% super (dependant on quals & experience)
• Travel on paid work time including expenses

About the role 

As a Systems Maintainer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical signalling equipment. The team is made up of ten staff who work together to cover the regions from Cardwell to Mareeba.

In this role you will:

• Install, maintain and repair mechanical signalling equipment
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of standby generator plants
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with WH&S requirements
• Undertake accurate and timely administrative and recording duties
• Review and improve current work procedures and practices
• Report on actual work performed against the scheduled maintenance program

We promote development in our team and in addition to the above-mentioned training you will have the opportunity to gain a High-Risk Work Licence & Working Safely at Heights ticket.

About you

• Cert III Mech Rail Signalling
• Current drivers’ licence
• Mechanically minded
• Team player who can be relied upon to work autonomously
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Must have the capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
• Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
