 About the role:

 

 

In this role you will be responsible for carrying out the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical signalling equipment including standby generator plants if applicable, and report on the performance and condition of the asset to ensure it is safe and in effective operation.

 

 

 Some of your day to day responsibilities include:

 

 

  • Install, maintain and repair mechanical signalling equipment in accordance with predefined work programs.
  • Maintain and repair standby generator plants in accordance with predefined work programs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements and legislative policies including work activities performed by subordinate employees.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specification and standards including work activities performed by subordinate employees.
  • Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems.
  • Report on actual maintenance performed verses the scheduled maintenance program and equipment performance and condition irregularities for defined section of responsibility.
  • Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of assuring and continuously improving quality.

 

 

 

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have the following:

 

 

  • Substantial knowledge of the maintenance standards and procedures associated with mechanical signalling equipment.
  • Substantial skill in installation and maintenance of mechanical signalling equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of signalling safe working practices and principles.
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Act and relevant Queensland Rail safety policies and procedures.
  • Sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.
  • Be available for call out/standby duties, overtime and higher grade relief as required;
  • Be available to work away from home station and travel as required;
  • Undertake further training considered necessary for the effective performance of the duties associated with the position and career development;
  • Work in a semi-autonomous manner within broad guidelines.

Full time annual salary: $61,287 + Super.
