Your opportunity
As a Trackworker, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity, safety and efficiency of our rail corridors. You'll be responsible for heavy manual labour activities, such as replacing railway sleepers and a variety of track maintenance works. Working in a safety-first environment and as part of a multi-skilled team, you will follow strict safety protocols and be comfortable operating a variety of tools and plant equipment.
You’ll be available to travel for scheduled maintenance at various locations around the beautiful Chinchilla area. You must be ready to respond to unscheduled, on-call travel for emergency situations (including flood repair and other emergency work), adding a responsive but rewarding element to your role.
This role is ideal for people who:
- Experience in manual handling and physical labour is a plus, but the right attitude matters most.
- Hold a C class driver's licence
- Have a strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Are comfortable working in various weather conditions, including hot temperatures.
This role offers:
- Full-time base annual salary of $69,000+ 12.75% super – Potential earnings of $85,000 including penalties.
- 9-day fortnight (Mon-Fri, Mon-Thur)generally between hours of 6am to 3pm in summer and 7am to 4pm in winter
- Travel on paid work time, including expenses and accommodation
- Paid training and ongoing support, including Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
- All PPE and tools supplied
