About the role
Queensland Rail have a permanent fulltime opportunity for the Manager Building Maintenance, for our Southeast Queensland Facilities Maintenance team based in Corinda south of Brisbane. This role is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the SEQ Facilities building assets to ensure the proper functioning and safe operation of the building assets.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver
- 6 direct reports and indirectly a dedicated team of 30 employees across Queensland.
- Ensure the reliable and safe operation of SEQ Facilities building assets by applying sound maintenance practices and delivering effective asset management, while assuring compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and manufacturer maintenance guidelines within budget constraints.
- Lead and manage the building maintenance team and contractors to achieve operational and commercial outcomes, maintaining a strong customer service focus and driving continuous improvement.
- Champion safety culture and Zero Harm initiatives, demonstrating exemplary safety behaviours and collaborating with the SEQ Facilities Management Team to uphold Queensland Rail’s safety standards.
- Manage financial obligations and stakeholder engagement, ensuring budgets are effectively controlled and representing SEQ Facilities in consultations with key internal and external stakeholders to support asset reliability and broader business goals.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in facilities maintenance and asset management, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings in complex environments such as passenger rail, with a strong record of driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage contractors, with a proven track record in resource planning, cost control, and delivering strategic asset management outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external service providers.
- Proven commitment to safety, with a strong safety record and demonstrated leadership in promoting and embedding safe work practices within maintenance and engineering operations.
Remuneration and Work Arrangement
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Brisbane southside suburb Corinda offering a competitive remuneration package.
Working Monday to Friday this role includes regular visits to the various facilities around Brisbane to maintain strong, visible support across teams.
