Your Role
As a Traction Linesperson, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of overhead traction power equipment across Queensland Rail's electrified network.
Working from various depot locations throughout South East Queensland, you'll support the safe and reliable delivery of passenger and freight services while contributing to major rail projects shaping Queensland's future.
Queensland Rail is investing billions into rail infrastructure upgrades, including major programs associated with network growth and the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of these initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, inspect and repair overhead traction power equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Construct, renew and maintain overhead line equipment in accordance with approved work programs and technical standards.
- Plan and perform traction power isolations while ensuring strict compliance with High Voltage Operating Procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostic testing and fault-finding activities.
- Respond to network faults and emergency restoration activities when required.
- Accurately record maintenance activities, asset condition data and inspection results.
- Maintain compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation, Queensland Rail policies and rail safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing team environment to achieve operational objectives.

What We’re Looking For
We're looking for safety-focused professionals who are committed to quality workmanship and enjoy working in a dynamic operational environment.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience working on overhead traction power systems.
- Sound knowledge of overhead line equipment, maintenance standards and construction practices.
- Experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of high-voltage traction infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of High Voltage Operating Procedures and electrical safe working systems.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and risk management practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative, team-first approach to work.
Mandatory Requirements
- Electrical Linesperson License
- ‘C’ Class Driver Licence
