As an Apprentice Carpenter based in our Northside Facilities Building maintenance team based at Qantas Drive, Brisbane Airport. You’ll contribute to our proud legacy, and help us build an even brighter, more sustainable future - and that means incredible things for your career.
Our Apprentice Opportunity:
In this apprenticeship you will
- Learn skills required to obtain CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry.
- Work in a large multidisciplinary work group learning a wide range skills required in the building industry.
- Be part of a team working with skilled tradesmen completing maintenance and upgrades on station buildings, depots, offices and equipment rooms.
- Gain an understanding of industry practices related to the Building Code of Australia, National Construction Code, Queensland Building Construction Code, relevant standards and regulations
As an Apprentice you will need:
- National Driver’s License (Mandatory)
- Excellent communication skills – with ability to establish and develop working relationships
- Be able to work across rosters which includes weekend and night work. This role will require you to work, day, night, and weekend shifts across a 2-week roster. This includes the allowances and penalty rates for weekend and afternoon/night shifts. Overtime is also available
- Have a willingness to travel
- The ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions with a commitment to safety at all times is essential
