About this role:

Our Tilt Train Presentation team in Gracemere currently has an opportunity for a cleaner (internally known as Tilt Train Presentation Attendant) to join their team on a casual basis. In this role you will work with an experienced team of four-five people on any given shift and will be responsible for providing an efficient, high-quality cleaning service on the interior and exterior of our Rockhampton Tilt Train carriages and other passenger trains as required. This will involve using various cleaning chemicals and tools and working quickly and safely and ensure that the carriages are ready for use by required deadlines.

 

Hours and Salary

This is a casual position with an hourly rate of $40 plus applicable penalty rates & 12.75% super. You will be required to work shift work between the hours of 14:30-0400, with a minimum of 3 shifts a week Monday – Sunday. With additional shifts also on offer. The successful candidate will need the flexibility to work up to 38 hours. This will include weekends and public holidays.

 

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Clean and provide a high-quality presentation of the Rockhampton Tilt Train and other passenger trains as required
  • Perform minor maintenance in accordance with the relevant procedures and instructions
  • Ensure accurate data entry of component tracing and maintenance scheduling
  • Observe and work within all relevant safety and environmental requirements
  • Perform all other associated duties and functions necessary for the efficient operation of the depot
  • Work in a co-operative relationship with all other employees while carrying out the duties

 

 Who we are looking for:

 Resilient and self-motivated individual who can work within a team environment within a fast-paced and tight deadline environment.

  •   Cleaning or experience in using basic tools to complete minor maintenance tasks is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
  •   Have an eye for detail 
  •   The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  •   Be punctual and hard working 
  •   Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including decanting of the trains 
  •   Exceptional communication skills with your direct team members and wider Regional Rollingstock team 
  •   A safety conscious attitude
