Queensland Rail is seeking a skilled Supervisor Civil Operations to support the Asset Maintenance Co-ordinator in leading frontline teams between Ingham & Townsville, ensuring the safe, cost-effective delivery of track maintenance services. This role can be based in Ingham or Townsville.

Purpose That Counts.

As Supervisor Civil Operations, you will be responsible for coordinating people, materials, plant and equipment to deliver essential track maintenance services across your area. You'll ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to specification, all while developing your team and supporting broader district targets.

 

You’ll make a meaningful contribution by:

  • Coordinate day-to-day delivery of track maintenance activities in line with safety, quality and cost expectations
  • Allocate resources effectively and support the development of long-term planning
  • Lead and manage staff performance, training, development and succession planning
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, including KPIs and defect reports, and adjust plans as required
  • Support budget management, cost tracking and procurement of materials and plant
  • Promote and uphold Zero Harm and environmental compliance principles
  • Perform administrative tasks including SAP-based payroll and reporting
  • Conduct and supervise regular track inspections and audits

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of track construction and maintenance practices, standards and systems
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, including performance development and IR knowledge
  • Strong planning, programming and resource coordination skills
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and cost control
  • Ability to interpret and deliver on asset performance metrics and reporting
  • Familiarity with SAP and other systems for payroll, resource planning, and administration
  • A strong commitment to Queensland Rail’s Values and Behaviours, and the Zero Harm philosophy

 

Other Requirements:

  • Availability for call-outs and emergency response outside of normal hours
  • Ability to travel throughout the district as required
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
  • Compliance with Queensland Rail’s Code of Conduct and safety standards
