We have an exciting Permanent opportunity for a Trackworker to join our Longreach based Track team, who look after the track maintenance between Clermont, Emerald and Winton.

 

What Queensland Rail has to offer

  • Full-time base annual salary of $69,000+ 12.75% super – Potential earnings of $85,000 including penalties. 
  • Paid training and ongoing support - including Cert III in Rail Infrastructure

About the role

As a Trackworker you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labour duties including replacing railway sleepers and a variety of other track maintenance tasks. This position is constantly in the field so you must be able to work in a variety of challenging weather conditions and high temperatures.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of the railway track
  • Perform outdoor labouring duties throughout the region (including flood repair and other emergency work)
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently

 

 

Roster and Travel

This role requires regular travel throughout the region. You will also be required to work on a rostered schedule, which may include patterns such as 9 days on, 5 days off. Flexibility and availability to meet these requirements is essential.

 

About you
 

  • Recent experience in a manual handling or physical labouring type role
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Must have capacity to travel and work within Regional Queensland
  • Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
     

We promote development in our team and in addition to the above-mentioned training you will have the opportunity to gain a First Aid certificate, High Risk Work Licence (DG) & (LF) & Working Safely at Heights ticket.
