About the Opportunity

Kickstart or continue your career in telecommunications with Queensland Rail! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Apprentice Telecommunications Technician based in Maryborough. Whether you’re just starting your apprenticeship or partway through, this is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised trade qualification.

 

Our Apprentice Opportunities

In this apprenticeship you will 

  • Assist with the maintenance, construction, and installation of Trackside Systems equipment and telecommunications systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, rail safety standards, and legislative policies.
  • Participate in planned maintenance and construction programs aligned with operational needs.
  • Proactively develop your trade skills and knowledge through hands-on experience and formal training.
  •  Follow technical guidance to ensure all work meets operational specifications and quality standards.

 

As an Apprentice you will have

  • A genuine interest in telecommunications technology and a strong willingness to learn and develop technical trade skills.
  • A commitment to working safely and complying with all rail and electrical safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to follow instructions accurately.
  • Reliability, motivation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends, and travel to different rail locations as required.
