• Base Salary of $138,000

 
About the role 
We currently have a permanent position for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our regional engineering team. This role will be responsible for leading effective and commercially valuable Track and Civil engineering solutions across the regional business and in consultation with various stakeholders, contractors and suppliers. 
 
Key responsibilities will include:
 

• Provide expert professional engineering services to complete projects that take into account scope, costing and relevant regulations
• Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance and review of the long term asset management plans.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineering staff within the team
• Carry out desktop investigations to identify route cause of recurring issues in track infrastructure
• Certify, as a professional engineer, civil engineering works and ensure that the requirements of professional practice and/or the Quality Management System are met to provide consistent output of civil engineering services and advice, ensure compliance with safety, operational and environmental Legislation, regulations and practices.
• Work with inspection team to ensure quality data is recorded for asset management purposes
• Conduct engineering and technical investigations and prepare reports on asset safety, condition and reliability issues.
• Conduct engineering site inspections and quality assurance activities

 
We are seeking interest from people who have:
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• RPEQ qualified or can demonstrate progress in working towards this metric
• High level of skill in providing civil engineering support – 5 years +
• Knowledge of rail infrastructure assets, their design, construction and maintenance standards would be favourable
• High level of technical and management skills within a multi-disciplinary infrastructure environment
• High level of skill in meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations
• Experience with SAP management system advantageous
