Your opportunity
As a Bus Driver / Station Assistant (internally known as Station Assistant), you’ll drive and convey passengers on a bus between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay and you will also be required to drive a company vehicle to Howard Station to perform cleaning and maintenance duties.
You’ll work fairly autonomously, however you will have the support of an experienced small team of up to three people per shift to assist you in performing routine duties associated with station operations.
This is a temporary full-time position until June 2028.

Purpose that Counts. As a Bus Driver / Station Assistant some of your duties will include:
• Convey passengers between Maryborough West and Hervey Bay
• General cleaning and maintenance duties at Maryborough and Howard Station (e.g. cleaning, mowing, whipper snipping)
• Assisting customers and handling luggage
• Making platform announcements and managing the platform
• Reporting any safety concerns
• Operating station machinery and equipment
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Supervisor

Roser/Hours
This is a temporary full-time opportunity which generally works between the hours of 04:00 to 22:00 and is split between a morning, day and night shift on a rotating roster.
This role will require to work weekends and public holidays.
Regular travelling between Maryborough West, Hervey Bay and Howard will also be required. You will also be required to travel to Brisbane and Rockhampton for training.
We are seeking to connect with someone who ideally will have:
• The ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong communication skills and a customer focused attitude
• Ability to work safely and follow directions given
• Ability to undertake a variety of manual handling tasks including cleaning and lifting up to 20 kilograms
• Previous experience driving a bus or operating yard machinery is highly desirable
• The ability to travel within your position
• Hold a current ‘MR’ Drivers licence – mandatory
Candidates will also need to obtain the below certificate at their own cost prior to employment if they do not currently hold:
