As an Apprentice Upholsterer based in our Travel and Tourism Maintenance team at Mayne Depot (Bowen Hills) you’ll contribute to our proud legacy, and help us build an even brighter, more sustainable future - and that means incredible things for your career.
Our Apprentice Opportunity
In this apprenticeship you will
- Design, manufacture and maintain materials for seats, curtains, flooring on Traveltrain and Citytrain carriages
- Source trimming supplies and liaising with Rollingstock and Component Services group to supply trimmed componentry
- Maintenance of the trimming shop tools and equipment
- Be able to take advantage of a unique opportunity to broaden your experience with a short-term rotation contributing to the exciting L-Series refurbishment program in Rockhampton, or be part of the iconic Kuranda Scenic Railway upgrade in picturesque Portsmith, Cairns
As an Apprentice we’d love you to have
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail, crucial for precise cuts and neat finishes
- Good spatial awareness for fitting materials
- Willingness to learn safety standards and regulations
- Ability to follow a roster that may include nights, weekends and public holidays
- The ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions with a commitment to safety at all times is essential
