Queensland Rail is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Citytrain Rollingstock Engineering team. About the role

As part of our Rollingstock Engineering team, you'll:

• Support the maintenance, overhaul and modernisation of rail vehicles
• Investigate technical issues and implement engineering solutions
• Analyse asset performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Provide engineering support to maintenance and trade teams
• Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments to support safe operations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise fleet performance and reliability

About You

We're looking for engineers who enjoy problem-solving, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You'll bring:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least one year of engineering experience
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset

No rail experience? No worries. If you have experience supporting complex machinery, heavy equipment or industrial assets, we'll help you build your rail industry expertise.
