Your Opportunity

 


Queensland Rail is looking for a detail oriented‑ and proactive Roster & Timesheet Officer to play a key role in supporting our Day of Operations (DOO) function at the Rail Management Centre in Bowen Hills.

 

In this role, you’ll help ensure the smooth, real-time operation of our Control environment by supporting the DOO roster. You’ll work closely with operational stakeholders to ensure rosters meet business needs while remaining‑ compliant with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, Queensland Rail policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain and administer Day of Operations (DOO) rosters, including planned and unplanned leave, ensuring compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, WHS and Queensland Rail policies.
  • Prepare, monitor and adjust operational and annual leave rosters to meet business requirements while maximising staffing efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Accurately process timesheets and payroll data in SAP within required payroll cut‑off timeframes.
  • Support the resolution of payroll irregularities in collaboration with Payroll Services.
  • Liaise with operational staff and stakeholders to ensure rosters are filled with appropriately qualified personnel.
  • Provide roster and payroll reporting, assist with future roster planning, meetings, and support special events as required.

Shifts:

 

  • Monday to Friday shifts coverage from 0500 – 2100 with a current trial of 7-day coverage being considered.
  • Shift start times include 0500, mid shift commencing between 0800 and 1030 and late shifts commencing at 1230.


About you:

 

  • Previous rostering and FAID experience required.
  • Advanced level knowledge of MS office.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
  • Comfortable in high paced working environments.
  • Adaptable to change and solutions focused.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including conflict management, consultation, and negotiation skills.
