About the role
Queensland Rail have a permanent fulltime opportunity for the Senior Manager Rollingstock Maintenance in the SEQ operations team based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. This role will lead the delivery of safe, reliable and high performing SEQ rollingstock by providing clear strategic direction, strong people leadership and effective management of multidisciplinary teams, budgets and assets.
Purpose That Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Directly lead 5 Managers, and indirectly a dedicated team of 179 employees within the Brisbane area.
- Work collaboratively with other senior leaders within the Customer Assets team to deliver world class services for our customers.
- Utilise best practice maintenance principles and systems to deliver a safe, reliable and cost effective SEQ passenger fleet that meets customer and performance requirements.
- Provide senior leadership across Rollingstock Assets, shaping strategy and supporting strong customer, stakeholder and business partner engagement in a dynamic passenger transport environment.
- Lead large multidisciplinary teams to build an engaged, safety focused workforce that drives continuous improvement and commercially focused SEQ fleet outcomes.
- Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support fleet modifications, overhauls, asset management systems and improvement initiatives.
People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning capability to deliver customer, financial, employee, asset performance and safety outcomes in a complex commercial, customer focused environment.
- Extensive experience leading the operational and strategic management of large multidisciplinary teams responsible for delivering safe, compliant and high performing assets.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and change management skills with a track record of driving successful engagement initiatives that build trust and support a safe, collaborative and commercially focused workforce.
- Deep knowledge of asset management and quality management principles to ensure high levels of rollingstock availability and reliability.
- Strong understanding of risk management, safety management systems and environmental processes within a large operational environment.
- Extensive experience managing budgets and financial obligations in a high value operational setting.
Remuneration and Work Arrangement
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Bowen Hills just outside Brisbane CBD at our Mayne depot, offering a competitive remuneration package and relocation if required.
Typically working Monday to Friday this role includes regular leadership engagement with teams that work shifts and weekends to maintain strong, visible support across teams.
