About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Substation Electrician to join the Network Maintenance team on a fixed term basis until March 2026.  The team delivers infrastructure services including construction, maintenance, asset management and development across 700 kilometres of track around South East Queensland, which stretches from Gympie to Varsity Lakes, and from Moreton Bay in the East and inland to Rosewood in the west.


This position sits within the Traction Power Asset Management team, producing high quality maintenance and repair of our Substation and power systems equipment. 


As a Substation Electrician you will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on substation and associated equipment and respond to faults under high pressure situations.


You are required to report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment performance and condition irregularities.

 

The position location is based at our Sunshine depot although you need to be flexible to work from any location in the SEQ region. There is a rolling roster which includes weekends, nights, rostered standby and call outs (penalty rates apply). You will be required to work up to 28 weekends a year.

About you


•    Electrical Fitter & Mechanic Licence
•    C-Class Driver’s Licence
•    High Voltage Experience (desired not essential)
•    Excellent communication skills – with ability to establish and develop working relationships with stakeholders
•    Strong safety focus
