About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Substation Electrician to join the Network Maintenance team on a fixed term basis until September 2025 in our Geebung depot (Sunshine). The team delivers infrastructure services including construction, maintenance, asset management and development across 700 kilometres of track around South East Queensland, which stretches from Gympie to Varsity Lakes, and from Moreton Bay in the East and inland to Rosewood in the west.
This position sits within the Traction Power Asset Management team, producing high quality maintenance and repair of our Substation and power systems equipment.
As a Substation Electrician you will carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on substation and associated equipment and respond to faults under high pressure situations.
You are required to report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment performance and condition irregularities.

About you
• Electrical Fitter & Mechanic Licence
• C-Class Driver’s Licence
• High Voltage Experience (desired not essential)
• Excellent communication skills – with ability to establish and develop working relationships with stakeholders
• Strong safety focus
Hours and Salary
Working in this team on the current roster an Electrical Fitter/ Mechanic earns between $110,000 - $120,000 plus superannuation. This includes the allowances and penalty rates for weekend and afternoon/night shifts. Overtime is also available.
The Roster is 2 weeks day shift and 1 weeknight shift (4 nights) they work a 9 day fortnight with the opportunity of OT as well.
