Your opportunity:
We have an exciting, fixed term opportunity (until 30 June 2026) for a Transport Planner to join our Daily Train Planning Team at the Rail Management Centre (RMC) based at Bowen Hills.

About the role:
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate analytical thinking skills when developing rail traffic plans.
- Provide transport planning services to the Daily Train Planning team to support the achievement of timetable planning objectives
- Assist with the creation of timetable plans for execution in the Daily Train Plan
- Development of operational plans, and data analysis.
You will have the opportunity to work with other planners from Daily Train Planning and Special Events through to Possession Planning to ensure the critical succession arrangements of the Rail Management Centre and Operations (RMC&O) planning team.

What we’re looking for:
- Good knowledge of computer-based systems and able to work across multiple planning programs to support scheduling and operational needs.
- Resilience in a dynamic team environment
- Be able to research, problem solve, think strategically, and interpret data with strong attention to detail to support accurate planning and planning decisions.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Be able to effectively work within a fast-paced environment.
Your strong communication skills along with your excellent time management skills and ability to use your initiative will ensure your success in this role.
